Canada, the United States and many European countries provide aid to Syrian refugees in various ways, but many refugees are denied access to some aid because of political reasons.
The United Nations estimates that about 60,000 refugees have been displaced within Syria since the start of the civil war.
The aid received by the United Nations’ World Food Program and other organizations helps to feed and shelter Syrian refugees while also helping to build a more prosperous future for Syrian people, the organization said.
Canada, with a population of more than 40 million, has the largest number of Syrian refugees, followed by the U.S., according to the latest UN figures.
